Breast milk is best right after it is expressed. While it can be safely refrigerated or frozen for later use, the longer it is stored, the more it can begin to break down and lose vital fats, proteins, antioxidants, and nutrients. Even the type of container you use to store your breast milk can impact its composition.

To keep your milk at its freshest while it goes through the freeze-drying process, here’s what we recommend:

  1. Use clean hands and equipment.
  2. Store milk in food-safe bags designed for that purpose.
  3. Freeze your pumped milk immediately, and make sure it’s as flat as possible.
  4. Store in the back of the freezer, where it’s coldest.
  5. Send your frozen milk to us in the provided container as soon as possible.

After your milk goes through the freeze-drying process, it will be returned to you packed with all those vital nutrients and shelf stable for up to 3 years, which means that you will be able to nourish your growing baby for years to come! Once we have received your milk, we’ll process it quickly and safely in our state-of-the-art facility, and it will be returned to you within 7 business days.
